Who We Are
The Why Behind The Why
Hi, I'm Maria.
As an economist with a Master's degree in Social Entrepreneurship, I have spent more than a decade helping growing companies solve complex challenges, navigate uncertainty, and make thoughtful strategic decisions. That experience taught me how to ask the right questions, evaluate options, and create practical solutions—but my passion for this work comes from something much more personal.
Having grown up in Guatemala, attended school in both Guatemala and the United States, studied in Canada, and spent over a decade living abroad, I eventually found myself facing one of the biggest decisions of all: relocating my own family back to Guatemala.
Like many families considering an international move, we had countless questions. Which neighborhood would be the best fit? What school would help our children thrive? How would we build a community and navigate a culture that felt both familiar and new?
Through that experience, I realized how difficult it can be to find trustworthy, personalized guidance. While there is no shortage of information online, there is very little support tailored to the unique needs of each family.
That's why I created 502 Nest. By combining firsthand relocation experience, deep local knowledge, and a trusted network of educators, parents, healthcare providers, real estate professionals, and other local experts, I help families make informed decisions and transition to life in Guatemala with confidence.
My goal is simple: to help families avoid unnecessary stress, make confident choices, and build a life they love in Guatemala!
